Abstract
THE study of the cardiac glycosides continues to fascinate both clinician and laboratory scientist. The magnitude of effort being expended by biomedical investigators in the study of digitalis glycosides can be judged from the listing of more than 600 citations in this area of endeavor in the Index Medicus for the year 1972 alone. It is not our intent to review the progress of the past decade exhaustively, and we shall attempt rather to consider selectively fundamental concepts and advances that are of broad interest to the basic and clinical pharmacology of the cardiac glycosides. Special emphasis will be placed . . .Keywords
