Abstract
A number of new records of smut fungi, largely from northern Canada, are listed. Thecaphora apicis (on Carex pyrenaica), Ustilago cilinodis (on Polygonum cilinode), and U. anomala Kunze var. tovarae (on Polygonum virginianum) are described as new. Ustilago punctata Clint. is shown to be synonymous with U. bosniaca G. Beck. Ustilago polygoni-punctati nom. nov. is proposed in place of the invalid name U. microspora (Speg.) Liro. Ustilago anomala Kunze var. cordai (Liro) Savile and U. violacea (Pers.) Roussel var. stellariae (Sow.) Savile are proposed as new combinations. Keywords
