Abstract

Researcher Philip Mitusch in the Building Process Group at the Norwegian Building Research Institute (Byggforsk) shows how the use of Hyper card, a graphics database and software development tool, and the Macintosh II personal computer, enabled the Institute to develop an expert system using a spreadsheet approach to information for fire requirements in the new Norwegian building regulations.
