Abstract
In this investigation internal friction of cold worked 304L austenitic stainless steel was measured and the new peaks (P1, P2, P3) were found. The height of those peaks increased with cold work degree. The temperature of the main peak P3 was 335K ~ 340K at the frequency of ~ 1,000Hz. The activation energies and frequency factors were obtained from peak shift. The values were 0.4ev, 0.4ev, 0.6ev and 1 x 1013 s-l, 2 x l010 s-1, 1.58 x 1012 s-1 for P1, P2 and P3, respectively. Possible mechanism for the prosses responsible for those peaks are brifly discussedKeywords
