Age Determination of Deer by Annular Structure of Dental Cementum

Abstract
Incisors of mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) that have been decalcified, sectioned, and stained reveal annulations in the cementum that are clearly referable to age. Using this technique along with known months of birth and death, it is possible to estimate age to the nearest month.
