Abstract
This article surveys the history and current status of the application of interactive man-computer systems in scheduling situations. A scarcity of material on both prototype and operational interactive scheduling systems is cited. The gap between the promise and the practice of such systems is discussed, and, based on some recent trends, an improved situation in the future is projected. The article concludes with a comprehensive list of references on interactive scheduling systems. Keywords
