Abstract
This article analyses the supply of, and the need for, impact assessment information during the decision-making process for infrastructure in the Netherlands. It first considers the formal procedures for infrastructure planning and then analyses the decision-making process and impact assessment for a specific trunk-road project The advantages and disadvantages of the integration of different types of impact assessments are examined and a number of proposals are made for improving their integration and timing.
