Abstract
—: Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) enhances the killing of phage T7 by near‐ultraviolet irradiation (NUV), maximally at 340 nm. There is no synergistic action below 300 nm. The addition of H2O2 resulted in a marked increase in the number of single strand (SS) DNA breaks induced at all near‐UV wavelengths tested. However, there is no correlation between SS break induction and degree of killing. Keywords
