Primary Cutaneous (Inoculation) Blastomycosis: An Occupational Hazard to Pathologists

Abstract
Primary skin infections caused by Blastomyces are rare. Nearly all of the reported cases followed accidental inoculations in the laboratory or during performance of an autopsy. Pathologists are at considerable risk. This paper reports two new cases, both occurring in pathologists, and includes a brief review of all of the known cases in the English literature.
