Abstract
Radiothermometric investigations have been carried out on breast cancer patients and on patients with tumors of various localizations and histologic types (liver,thyrold,...) (55 cases), by means of a high sensitivity hyperfrequency radiometer operating at 9GHz.The findings were analyzed as follow: (a) comparison between microwave thermal mapping and infrared thermography; (b) correlations with various morphologic and thermal parameters (depth and size oftumor thermal conductivity, vascularization and x-ray structures of tissues). Microwave radiometry seems to be able to provide significant information on meta-bolism and thermal conditions of subcutaneous tumor tissue, especially under those clinical situations where infrared thermography does not work. Keywords
