Autoimmune Murine Thyroiditis

Abstract
The immune response to mouse thyroglobulin in mice is associated with the centromeric (left) side of the H-2 region. Thyroid infiltration is strongly controlled by a major gene, probably located between the K-end and the Ir-1 region, but other genes at the D-end of H-2, or outside of the H-2 region, may modify the response. Antibody formation is less strongly influenced by this major gene and may involve additional genetic or non-genetic factors.
