Abstract
Fiala, Pierre - Reported discourse in opinion manufactures. Reported speech is an essential mechanism in the referential construction of media discourse, which is dominated by the patterns of clarity, explanation, transparency and seduction which are linked to the attempt to reach an audience and influence public opinion. In periods of serious international crises, the functions and effects of formal properties stand out more sharply. Reported speech, which is a general language fact, appears as an essential media mechanism for fashioning political space, organizing representations and giving media exposure to conflicts to the benefit of social strategies. This article highlights the general mechanisms of reported speech in the political press ; it includes a recapitulative bibliography. Keywords
