Recent Advances in the Study of Ionospheric Winds

Abstract
Two new ways of finding the speed of ionosperic winds are reviewed. The first depends on the fading of radio signals reflected from the ionosphere. The second depends on the Doppler frequency shift of radio signals returned from drifting meteoric ionization trails. Use of these methods is adding greatly to what we know of the winds above the stratosphere.
