Biological effects of changes in surface water acid-base chemistry

Abstract
This report has three primary objectives. These are to identify chemical variables and characteristics that influence the effects of acidification (and recovery) on aquatic biota, to summarize the effects of changes in surface water acid-base chemistry (acidification and recovery) on biological communities and processes describe procedures to be applied for the National Acid Precipitation Assessment Program (NAPAP) Integrated Assessment for quantifying the relationship between changes in acid-base chemistry and regional effects on fish communities. 990 refs., 172 figs., 100 tabs.
