Abstract
Neurosecretory granules prepared from bovine posterior pituitary glands by cell fractionation methods contain adenosine triphosphate and adenosine triphosphatase activity. Addition of adenosine triphosphate to suspensions of granules stimulates release of vasopressin. It is suggested that adenosine triphosphate and adenosine triphosphatase participate in the storage and release of vasopressin. Keywords
