Abstract
Simple scaling laws for free-electron laser oscillator mirror alignment tolerances are given based on geometric optics. The effect of geometric walk-off and diffractive scraping are discussed. In cavities that are nearly concentric, the effect of diffraction can relax the alignment tolerances.Keywords
