Abstract
The probability of collision for slow , , , , and ions in argon has been measured. The energy range studied was 225 to 4200 volts for the and ions, 225 to 1300 volts for the , and ions and 300 to 1225 volts for the deuteron hydrogen molecular ion beam. The probability of collision for the ion decreased from a value of at 225 volts to a minimum value of 48 at 784 volts with a subsequent increase to at 3840 volts.
