Abstract
Field comparisons of treatments containing DDT, pyrethrum, cube, sabadilla and Ryanex for control of insects feeding on cauliflower foliage indicated that DDT was equally as effective as cube powder for control of Myzus persicae and Thrips tabaci in the seedbed, and was superior in effectiveness to pyrethrum, cube or sabadilla for control of Pieris rapae, Autographa brassicae, Plutella maculipennis on the field crop. In the latter case the higher effectiveness of DDT applications seemed to be due in large measure to the longer length of time such treated plants remained uninjured by worms; applications were made at intervals averaging slightly longer than 3 weeks. Keywords
