Abstract
The goal of this paper is to establish that there exists a strong relationship between current issues of data models in Database Management and representations of knowledge in Artificial Intelligence. The different data modelling techniques that have been used in the two research areas are surveyed and classified into Predicate Calculus-based, Network, and Procedural ones. The similarities and differences between them are presented. Keywords
