Effect of Grazing on Soil Compaction as Measured by Bulk Density on A High Elevation Cattle Range

Abstract
Bulk density of soil from grazed areas was similar to that of soil from ungrazed exclosures. In both areas, density increased during the summer, possibly because moisture content decreased. Grazing on wet soil may cause compaction, but its effect on dry soils is not necessarily the same.
