Resonant and nonresonant D+ -> K- pi+ semileptonic decays

Abstract
We analyse the D+ -> K- pi+ semileptonic decay using the effective model, developed to described D -> P l nu and D -> V l nu decays. The light vector mesons are included into the model which combines the heavy quark effective Lagrangian and the chiral perturbation approach. The nonresonant and resonant contributions are compared. Without introducing any new parameter, we are able to correctly reproduce the measured ratio Gamma(nonres)/Gamma(nonres + res). We display some potentially useful differential distributions of the nonresonant width. Finally, a similar model, but with a modified current, which satisfies the soft pion theorems, is tested.
