Abstract
Measurements of pool boiling heat transfer have been made over the entire range of heat flux from nucleate boiling up to film boiling for hydrocarbon mixtures for concentrations varying from 0 to 100% and at various pressures. A special apparatus designed for this purpose enables experimental realization of stable conditions even in the region of transition from nucleate to film boiling. For mixtures in the nucleate boiling regime the decrease in heat transfer is obtained as a function of the difference in concentration between the vapour and the liquid. In the transition range there is an effect of mixture composition on heat transfer, whereas the effect of pressure is substantially diminished. Keywords
