Abstract
Optical spectroscopy was used to investigate the optical gap ( ) due to charge ordering (CO) and related pseudogap developments with and temperature ( ) in ( ). Surprisingly, we found is as large as 30 for , and decreases rapidly with increasing . Simultaneously, the optical pseudogap, possibly starting from far above becomes drastically enhanced near , producing non-BCS -dependence of with the large magnitude far above , and systematic increase of for . These results unequivocally indicate systematically enhanced CO correlation when approaches 0.5 even though decreases.
