Gamma-ray studies at the 2876- and 2879-keV resonances inAl27+p

Abstract
The 6 assignment to the 14.358-MeV level of Si28 and the concomitant M1 character of the 14.358→11.577-MeV transition have been made rigorous by a linear-polarization measurement of this radiation at the 2876-keV resonance in Al27+p. The spin and parity of the 2879-keV resonance, Ex=14.361 MeV, are restricted to 2+, 5, or 6+, with 2+ preferred.
