Abstract
IT WAS AN honor to be the editor of the Archives. It was also a great learning and, occasionally, humbling experience. To be trusted to review the research, clinical experiences, and written words of friends and colleagues is a privilege. All submitted reports cannot be published, but they all deserve consideration. No matter how difficult the syntax, sloppy the typing, or incidental the message, someone worked to produce the manuscript. Many of us have received letters recommending extensive revisions of our own manuscripts or even rejections; thus, as an editor, I tried to encourage authors by providing reviews, comments, and/or recommendations for all submissions. Cannot a worthwhile idea be buried within a seemingly innocuous manuscript? A writer, if encouraged, may submit a more significant contribution the next time. It is a waste of authors', editors', and editorial board members' time to have the same manuscript, without modification, sent from one
