Aeromonas shigelloidesBacteremia: A Case Report

Abstract
Aeromonas shigelloides was isolated from the blood of a 62-year-old woman with sickle cell anemia. The bacteremic episode was secondary to cellulitis resulting from puncture of the hand with a fish bone. Although the infection appeared to respond promptly to intravenous cephalothin, the patient died in renal failure.
