Abstract
Statistical analysis procedures and probability models that are applicable to wind energy conversion sites in general are developed. Special computer algorithms are used to study variances, fit probability distributions, analyze run duration, and determine correlation structure in the wind. A total of 20 one-hour or three-hour records are analyzed from sites in New England, Illinois, Montana, Kansas, Wyoming, and Texas in developing and testing the models.
