The mannich condensation of sulfinic acid with aldehydes and carboxamides, sulfonamides, or lactams. Part IV

Abstract
The carboxamides, p‐CH3C6H4SO2CHR′NR″COR′″, the sulfonamides, p‐CH3C6H4SO2CHR′NR″SO2C6H5, and the lactams, magnified image , have been prepared by condensation of p‐methylbenzenesulfinic acid with an aldehyde and a carboxamide, a sulfonamide, or a lactam, respectively. The scope of the reaction is discussed. Infrared and PMR spectral data of the condensation products are given.
