Abstract
The effects of corrosive agents on the gastrointestinal tract and the appropriate roentgenology are discussed.Acute changes include: pharyngeal burns with subsequent aspiration; esophageal dilatation and/or narrowing; and esophageal on gastric perforation.Chronic manifestations are: esophageal stricture; hiatus hernia; narrowing of the gastric antrum; and chronic mediastinitis.Keywords
