Abstract
Anomalous ESR spectra have been observed for H and D atoms formed in aqueous solutions by γ irradiation. This paper proposes a model, based upon three assumptions, to describe this anomalous behavior. Some justification for the assumptions is provided. In the development of the model, fairly simple explicit expressions are given for the field dependent spin eigenvectors for an electron interacting with a nuclear spin I in an arbitrary magnetic field. Keywords
