Abstract
A model for the process of medical care for persons with diabetes mellitus was proposed. A biological characteristic of the disease, measured here by age at onset, is most strongly correlated with good or poor day-to-day control. No correlation was demonstrated between performance of prescribed therapy and good or poor control of the disease. Certain predicted psychological and social correlates of the control status were borne out. Continued support for the patient may be as important and as teaching per se.This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
