Abstract
A vacuum furnace for Mössbauer effect experiments is described which fits into the 5 cm room temperature bore of a superconducting solenoid. The temperature homogeneity of the absorber, a disk 2.0 cm in diameter, is better than 0.25°C at 360°C. As an illustration of its use, the complete temperature dependence of the hyperfine fields at the five iron sites of SrFe12O19 has been determined. Keywords
