Abstract
Using a 40 cm curved mica crystal spectrograph of the transmission (Cauchois) type, a detailed study of the L emission spectrum of cerium 58 has been made. Four new diagram lines at 1899.7 x.u., 1921.2 x.u., 2008.0 x.u. and 2162.6 x.u., corresponding, in that order, to the forbidden transition LIOI and the quadrupole transitions LINIV,V, LIInVI,VII and LIIINVI,VII have been observed for the first time. The measurements of other dipole and quadrupole transitions have been made with a view to comparing them with those of earlier workers. Keywords
