Abstract
The enthalpies of formation of hexamethyldisiloxane (I), hexamethyldisilane (I), and tetraethylsilane (I) have been determined as –193·1 ± 4·9, –96·5 ± 1·7, and –66·4 ± 4·5 kcal mol–1 respectively, using rotating bomb calorimetry. The equipment used was a novel type of aneroid, vacuum-jacketted, rotating bomb calorimeter, details of which are given. Keywords
