Abstract
Several systemic organophosphates evaluated on groups of 5 lambs significantly reduced Oestrus ovis L. larval burdens. In a feedlot and pasture experiment involving 400 naturally infested lambs, Ruelene® (4- tert -butyl-2-chlorophenyl metllyl methylphosphoramidate) drench gave significant bot control. Because growth rates and carcass evaluation of treated animals were not significantly different from those of untreated animals, the treatments probably would not be economically justified for sheep bot fly control alone within the range of infestations encountered. Keywords
