Abstract
An advantageous aspect of telemedicine is that it can create virtual environments for collaboration between patient, physicians, and medical staff. Here, the authors present a multimodal interactive environment for EEG/MEG data presentation based on a virtual reality user interface (VRUI). In addition, to visualization, the VRUI uses sonification. The proposed approach requires only a standard Web browser. The multi modal viewer presents 3D EEG topographic maps using a VRML head model, animated with Java applets. Animation of the 3D models gives an insight into spatio-temporal patterns of activity. The authors have applied sonification to emphasize the temporal dimension of selected visualized scores. Keywords
