Abstract
THE case presented below is reported as an unusual occurrence, as an illustration of the difficulty in the diagnosis and management of destructive lesions in the region of the sphenoid sinus and to reemphasize the necessity of a pathological diagnosis before irradiation.A sinus mucocele arises from the retention and accumulation of mucoid secretions within the sinus, which eventually gives rise to expansion, thinning and distention or actual destruction of the wall.
