Abstract
The authors state in this book's preface, "The aim of this book is to present, in a practical matter, meaningful descriptions and clear illustrations of many surgical procedures which have enjoyed success in our hands as well as by numerous other surgeons engaged in this speciality." This statement summarizes the content of this text, and seldom is the aim of such a book so well met. The book is divided into 12 chapters, and each of the authors deals with the areas in which his experience is greatest. The introductory chapter summarizes anatomy, physiology, surgical principles, and patient evaluation. While this material can be found elsewhere, it provides a good introduction to the following chapters, which describe the surgical management of the most common oculoplastic and reconstructive problems.
