Abstract
The microstructure of Fe2B, which precipitates in an Fe73·5CuNb3Si13·5B9 amorphous alloy when annealed at 610°C, has been studied by means of micro-beam electron diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy. Fe2B crystals are found to precipitate in the form of twin lamellae. The twin structure has the orientation relation and [110]1//[110]2 with a twin plane (ll0). The formation of this twin structure is discussed in terms of an atomic model based on the Fe2B structure. Keywords
