Student Teaching: Results of a Recent Survey

Abstract
The article outlines the findings of a recent national survey of teaching practice and teaching practice supervision in England and Wales. The survey identified the variety of approaches adopted in the organization of teaching practice supervision. In addition, the survey attempted to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing supervision arrangements. The project, supported by a grant from the Department of Education and Science, identified a number of ways in which existing practice can be improved.
