Abstract
The crystal structure of bis-(L-histidino)cadmium dihydrate, Cd(C6H8N3O2)2, 2H2O, has been determined from two-dimensional X-ray diffraction data. The crystals are tetragonal with a= 7·39, c= 30·41 Å, and space-group P43212. The R factor is 13·4%. The cadmium atoms are on two-fold axes and are co-ordinated to two nitrogen atoms and an oxygen atom of each histidine group at 2·26, 2·25, and 2·49 Å, respectively. In other respects the structure is very like that of the corresponding zinc compound. Keywords
