Abstract
Recent progress in bias stress experiments has been made using a low frequency cyclic bias stress. In this technique attenuation α and velocity v of ultrasonic waves are measured in a sample subjected to a low frequency cyclic stress σ. Closed curves Ɗα(σ) and Ɗv/v(σ) are measured during each cycle of the applied stress. The shapes of these curves and their evolution are characteristic for each mechanism controlling the dislocation motion
