Abstract
D,l-thia-PAF [d,l-(2-acetoxy-l-octadecylthio)-3-propylphosphorylcholine] 2 was synthesised using a selective method of protection (ClSiMe2t-Bu) and deprotection (BF3-Et2O) of the primary alcohol function. This method could be used with advantage in the synthesis of other phospholipids as it avoids an isomerisation by internal trans-acylation at the deprotection step. Keywords
