Abstract
The oxidation of such compounds as benzidine, guajac resin, leucomolachite green, 3,5-dichloro-4,4[image] -hydroxy-phenylendiamine by peroxides of fats and fatty acids is catalyzed by heme. Faster reactions and more intensive colors may be obtained when heme is used in the form of imidazol-, pyridine-, or other hemochromogens. The reaction is most readily seen when performed on filter paper. Keywords
