Wave Functions for Fe XIV

Abstract
The results obtained by Hartree's self-consistent field method, without -exchange, for the radial wave functions of Fe XIV, for both the ground configuration (3s 2 3p) and the lowest lying configuration (3s3p 2 ) combining with the ground configuration, are presented. The level separation in the ground configuration of Fe XIV and the probability of spontaneous transition between these two levels are computed from these wave functions. The spontaneous-transition probability and the f -value for the transition array 3s3p 2 → 3s 2 3p are also given.
