Abstract
A detailed design is given for an oscillator dissipating less than 10-9 W in a tank circuit within a cryostat, which achieves a frequency stability of a few p.p.m. without the need to control the external circuit temperature. It is suitable for either susceptibility measurements or thermometry in the millikelvin region. Keywords
