Abstract
The Sandawe are a tribe of 21,000 living in the Central Province of Tanganyika. The author measured 100 adult Sandawe males, 50 males from the Nyaturu, a neighboring Bantu-speaking tribe, and 25 male F1 crosses between the two. The non-metrical characters hair color, skin color and form of ear-lobe of the Sandawe and Nyaturu are similar; however, their body hair and eye colors differ. Slight steatcpygia occurred in 13 of the 100 men and in 12 of the 25 women. Steatopygia was moderate in 7 and pronounced in 3 females. Thirteen measurements are reported and comparisons are made with other groups such as the Dahomeans, Southern and Northern Bushmen, Hottentots, etc. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
