Abstract
The electrostatic free energy of a finite plasma is expanded in semi‐invariants, which are conveniently represented by diagrams corresponding to clusters of interacting particles. At infinite dilution the free energy is related to unbranched linear diagrams as well as to ring diagrams. For a macroscopic system only the contribution of the ring diagrams is significant. Keywords
