Abstract
On the basis of the maximum-entropy principle, the usual definition of temperature is extended to quantal systems. Entropy, specific heats, and state equations are evaluated for bounded (i.e., spinorial systems) and unbounded operators (i.e., electromagnetic field systems).Keywords
