Abstract
We report herein a patient with debilitating multisystem sarcoidosis. Interestingly, dermal lesions and enlarged lymph nodes resolved and her clinical condition dramatically improved following removal of silicone gel breast implants. Of note, the capsular tissue surrounding the breast implant demonstrated a granulomatous foreign-body response. The potential harmful effects of silicone may include an acceleration of an already existing hypersensitivity response. Keywords
